BOSTON, Mass. -- Following the completion of his work at the Boston Police Department, Edward F. Davis, Commissioner of the department for the past seven years, will join Community Resources for Justice as a senior consultant, CRJ’s CEO John Larivee announced today.
“As he explores the various options that will be available to him, we are very excited to have Ed on our team,” said Scott Harshbarger, chair of the CRJ board and former Massachusetts attorney general. “The combination of his valuable experience, insight, and his network of fellow professionals will help to advance our mission of improving
public safety both locally and nationally,” he added.
Davis will assist CRJ in their work of transitioning incarcerated women and men back to their communities through a network of halfway houses. He will also work with CRJ’s Crime and Justice Institute, supporting their nonpartisan policy analysis, consulting and research work across the country. Beyond his work at CRJ, Commissioner Davis has also accepted a fellowship at Harvard University.
“CRJ is doing some of the best work in the country in this area,” Davis said. “I’ve been a fan of this organization for a long time, and I am looking forward to partnering with Scott Harshbarger, our CEO John Larivee, and the whole team to advance this important work.”
Davis is expected to begin his work at CRJ in early November.
